Women In Farming: Cultivating Your Future By Iona Smith
What an amazing time I had at the first-ever Women in Farming: Cultivating Your Future Course, generously funded by The King’s Foundation and hosted at the breathtaking Dumfries House within the MacRobert Centre. I feel truly privileged to have been chosen for this transformative opportunity right in my own community paving the way for future attendees.
Over four enriching days, we explored rural businesses, heard from experienced professionals, participated in fun team-building activities, and even took part in a drawing lesson with the fabulous Jan Laird, all while making amazing new connections. The experience was filled with hands-on activities that pushed me to try new things and develop essential skills for my career.
A key takeaway and one of my most significant insights is the vital role of collaboration and innovation in driving success within the farming sector. I’m excited to leverage these lessons as I move forward in my career.
A heartfelt thank you to The King’s Foundation and their dedicated team for orchestrating such a remarkable experience.
